The second major assignment we were tasked with was creating a brochure for use in the workplace. In my group, the purpose for our brochure was to promote our new product, which we called the Wizard Wash. To create an effective brochure, we needed to present our information in an attractive but easy to read and organized manner, give the viewers of our brochure a strong sense of what are brochure is about starting on the front panel, and use graphics and color sparingly to catch the eye of our audience but to not be overwhelming. This task is linked with course outcome number 4, which is to create professional documents that uses design. In creating this brochure, I learned a lot regarding writing and formatting the information on a brochure and how to use graphics properly in a professional document. When writing the information for our brochure, I learned how to put the AIDA method to use. AIDA stands for attention, interest, desire, and action, all of which you want to cultivate in your audience of your brochure to persuade them into buying your product. Each part of the AIDA method was incorporated into at least one, if not multiple, panels on our brochure. Additionally, graphics were utilized in our brochure. However, we kept our images to one per panel, with the exception of our biography panel, as we did not want to take away from our content. In all, this assignment taught me about the importance of paying attention to detail in professional documents.
