Microbiology was a very interesting course where I was able to learn my strengths in the lab. For example, one of our main objectives was to be able to recognize and name unknown bacteria. Throughout my time at Longwood, specifically in biology, I learned how to do this difficult task with efficiency.

As for the honor’s portion of this class, my group and I decided to test how well particular contact solutions are at removing bacteria from the lenses. This project allowed me to learn more within my future field of study as well as practice lab techniques and research abilities.

Overall, microbiology was an informative course that helped me build my skills in biology as well as become a more well-rounded scholar.
