Dr. Fortino was one of my favorite professors at Longwood so far! He class was hard at first. Everyone failed the first test, but once we adjusted to his style of teaching the class became so much easier. I learned how to create my first scientific poster and write a lab report. The first project my lab group performed, was looking at the bacterial differences in different wooden surfaces in the Chichester building. We were shocked at the bacterial amount on the nutrient-rich agar plates. This group project was very fun and interacting. The main project we did focused on the growth of Brassica rapa with no excess nutrients, excess nitrogen, excess phosphorus, or excess nitrogen and phosphorus.
