Resume
Throughout my life, I have worked at a variety jobs, from being a waitress at Red Robin to working as a daycare assistant at a learning center. I am highly qualified in child care and have over 10+ years’ experience working with children ages 2-5, through paid work and volunteering. I have a passion for educating others and I am patient and reliable when working with children of all ages. I am skilled in creating a safe and nurturing environment with age-appropriate activities for students according to the curriculum.
This previous summer I was a camp counselor for the two-year old classroom at Triple C camp, and had an amazing experience with all of the children that I worked with. I currently work at a learning center near my college, Longwood University, and work daily with the 2 and 3-year old’s, so I have become accustomed to their daily needs and can multitask and be flexible when needed. I also believe I have strong interpersonal communication skills that would be a positive asset to any job.
Lastly, I had the opportunity to study abroad last winter break in Cape Town, South Africa. There I studied Literature of South Africa with specific focus on the rhetorical situation of the country, especially in regards to the tourist vs. local dilemma. I researched South African literature and wrote blog posts about the topic for the public to read, and gained cultural knowledge, awareness, and respect for another country, as well as developed strategic rhetorical skills within writing. All in all, I believe the experience that I have gained through working, volunteering, and traveling have shaped me into the person that I am today, and will benefit me any of my future jobs that I pursue.
