Longwood’s Center for Visual Arts PageTurners Workshop
I volunteered at the Longwood’s Center for Visual Arts PageTurners workshop. It is in partnership with the Virginia Children’s Book Festival. Every week the honors college sends out a weekly email with volunteer opportunities attached. I found out about this workshop through the honors college. The workshop allows people all throughout the community to go and create their own works of art that is inspired by children’s literature. I assisted with helping the children make a cupcake. I helped them trace the cupcake parts and cut them out. All of the arts and crafts were created to go with the book Pinkalicious by Victoria Kahn.
