Letter to Senior Self

Dear Senior Ashley,

Freshman year has come to an end and it was a very eventful year. You have grown a lot and I know you will continue to do so. This year was a challenge mentally and it took some time to manage how to do things on your own. However, these accomplishments and struggles have helped me focus on what I am here for. I am here to learn and get my Bachelors in Nursing while experiencing everything college has to offer.

I know the next years are going to be some of the toughest ones I will have to face. But, my hope is that I stayed focused on the end goal and remember to still have fun and enjoy my time here at Longwood.

I am proud of you for pushing through, this is your last year at Longwood! You are so close to attaining that degree so don’t stop now. Remember to always approach everything with a positive attitude and good thoughts. Even when you are not having the best day try to see one thing to be thankful for. Nursing school is tough so remember to take sometime for yourself. Remember all that you have gone through so far to get this degree and why you went through it. It’s okay to ask for help, but also remember you are capable of handling things. This is going to be a stressful year but don’t forget to enjoy it. The past three years probably flew by like your freshman year one did so have fun with this last year before you have to go out into the real world. Take many pictures, capture moments, and most importantly do what makes you happy and spend your time with people who lift you up.

You’re going to do great things (not to toot my own horn),

Ashley 2019
