Honors Citizen 110: Society and its Monsters
This class material was extremely interesting. However, the course was unorganized and poorly structured. While this was stressful and frustrating, I realized after finishing the course that this taught me patience and flexibility. I learned to go with the flow of changing expectations and grading methods. I also learned patience with these things. As a naturally organized person, I was frustrated originally; this course taught me how to be patient with un-organization and how to be organized for myself and keep good track of my work and grades. These are helpful skills to have in college and I can hopefully bring them into other areas where I am faced with a class or situation that is less structured than I may be comfortable with.
I was also able to work on my group work skills in this course. The semester ended with a group panel presentation. Due to the stressful and unorganized setup of this class, our groups were forced to work together and create a PPT and presentation without clear instructions or expectations. Our entire class was also able to form connections and bond over the way this course proceeded.
Here, I am including an individual presentation I gave for this class on the phenomenon of the sexy psychopath in media.
