Morgan Bohanon's Professional Writing Portfolio

During our Professional Writing Course, we had the opportunity to develop a brochure for a new product that would soon be launched. The product that we chose to launch is called iCaffeine. This specific project allowed me to work on many different course outcomes such as; “Analyze and produce writing genres commonly found in the professional world (e.g., business, gov., media”, “Create professional documents that use plain English”, and “create professional documents that uses design-standard formats, layout, use of graphics etc.) Throughout this specific project, we were able to use a wide variety of resources in order to make our brochure. We were able to learn how to develop well-designed graphics and also a well-designed layout. Learning how to develop a well laid out brochure was key to a great product brochure. During this particular project, I was able to further my knowledge on brochure making and also design layout. I had previous simple knowledge on brochures from previous classes taken but this specific assignment broadened my knowledge a great deal more. Out of all of the projects that we did in our professional writing class, this was probably my top favorite. I really enjoyed this project because it was so much different than writing a normal paper. Even though it was fun, we had a couple of technical difficulties with can often be expected to occur due to using a Mac computer. Overall, this was a very fun project but it was also very helpful and resourceful for future work projects.
