Perhaps the most important concept I’ve learned from my time as a freshman is the community at Longwood. There is no community like any other than the Lancers in Farmville. Being a freshman that was unfamiliar with anything pertaining to Longwood or even Virginia, I needed a home and Longwood became that place. I think that it’s phenomenal that one of the pillars here is community. It teaches us to accept everyone despite who they are and despite any flaws. Each of us are different people and that’s what makes Longwood special. If I had to think of one word to describe Longwood, it would simply be “home”.
