President’s Message
Dear Friends:
On behalf of the entire Longwood community, I offer our most sincere thanks for your generous support in 2011-12. Whether you made a gift to the annual fund, athletics, LCVA, a scholarship, the endowment, one of our colleges or some other area of support, we appreciate that giving to Longwood is a priority for you.
I have often said that “we have something special here.” Although state support remains uncertain, it is clear that we can be confident that our alumni, parents, faculty and staff, and friends know the transformational impact of a Longwood education in the life of a student. We are able to provide a high-quality experience for our students and look to the future of our university with your help.
I hope you will spend some time reviewing our online version of the 2011-12 annual report. One of the highlights of the Longwood experience is the unique bond that is formed between faculty members and students. Alumni, even years past graduation, fondly remember the lessons learned from that special faculty member. And current students really feel like Longwood is their “home away from home” when they receive individual support and personal attention in the classroom.
I am optimistic about what the future will bring for Longwood University. With your continued loyalty and dedication, our future is bright.
Once again, please accept my sincere appreciation for your enthusiasm for Longwood and your generous gifts.
With appreciation,
Marge Connelly
