English 265 was honestly one of my favorite classes that I took my first semester here at Longwood. I personally loved my professor as well as the material. The class was definitely one I am so glad that I took and will never forget.
I was first shocked at how well I was understanding the material in the class. In past English classes, I always seemed to struggle with really interpreting what authors meant as well as when writing papers. Dr. Heady really knew how to help me and taught me in a way that was easy to understand. She also helped me with personal goals. She informed me of all the important resources at Longwood such as the writing center. She also wrote my recommendation letter for my study abroad experience.
I found it pretty challenging my first week in the class since I did transfer into the class on the add/drop deadline. I felt far behind from my peers and honestly did not know if I would be able to catch up. Dr. Heady was super understanding and helped me catch up but also taught me how to manage my time at Longwood. She helped me figure out how to prioritize me schedule as well as kept me sane when I felt like everything around me was going wrong. I could never be thankful enough for everything the class taught me.
I chose my 4 page issue paper because I worked very hard on this paper and it is something I am very passionate about. I love all things healthy living and fitness, so this paper is a direct reflection of my passion.
