In chapter 9 we discussed charismatic and transformational leadership. While reading the chapter we did a self-assessment to measure if we are transformational leaders. On this assessment, I scored a 42. This is a medium-high score, meaning that I am closer to being a transformational leader than a transactional leader. I was not surprised by this score because it is a pretty average score. Another self-assessment was done to determine if we are more transformational or charismatic leaders. My results indicated that I am more of a transformational leader. This is not surprising because I am not highly confident or extroverted.
Charismatic leaders are likely to have personal power. This is because charismatic leaders’ behaviors usually gain influence over others. I feel that I am more of a servant leader. I am not a charismatic leader and it is typically easier to be a transitional leader in higher positions of power which I do not currently have. I would like to eventually become more of a transitional leader.
