Press Release

Reflection

I got the opportunity to create a press release in this course. I have never wrote one of these before, so I got the practice to make one for my group project that I did the brochure for. There are many course learning outcomes that align with this assignment. The first course learning outcome is number two, which is,”create professional documents that use plain English principles (to targeted audience).” For this assignment, we had to write a professional press release for the targeted audience for our service idea. The next course learning outcome is, “conduct research to create content for a variety of professional documents (memos, letters, reports, etc.).” We had look at some example on certain press releases from others and do some research for our service we come up with. The third course learning outcome is,”create professional documents that use design principles.” We had to set this document up the way a real press release would be. It had to have the same layout and flow to it. The last course learning outcome that is aligned with this assignment is, “participate productively in collaborative projects.” This was still apart of the partner assignment, so we worked together to make sure our press release had no mistakes, had the right information on it, and made sure it was organized and well thought out. This assignment was very beneficial and I hope I can one day make a press release for a real service and use my skills that I gained.
