I am currently working to complete my 180 hour Junior Internship at the Cumberland County Department of Social Services (CDSS). I primarily focus on work within Child Protective Services (CPS), but I also assist in foster care, VIEW, and Adult Protection Services (APS).
During my time at CDSS I have been exposed to many experiences and new knowledge that I would not be able to obtain in the classroom or from a textbook.
Experiences I have gained at CDSS:
- Child Advocacy Center Meeting (including a forensic interview)
- SART Meetings
- Numerous Home Visits
- Adoption Disclosure Requests
- Court Hearings
- Family Partnership Meetings
Once my time at Cumberland DSS is complete I will have completed over 200 hours.
