Letter to Senior Self

First off, I’d like to say congratulations for making it to this point. This was always one of your dreams on this journey you’re on and you’ve made it. I wonder if you plans have changed, right now as a freshman you are extremely focused on becoming an Occupational Therapist. I also wonder if you changed majors because at this point you can never imagine yourself with a different one. Hopefully you are still on track and not behind in school and that you don’t have any regrets. I hope you joined all the clubs and organizations you wanted to be a part of. I hope you have continued to find yourself through your love of music and theatre while also being able to continue your love for helping others find themselves and gain love for themselves.

Other than those surface- level personal things, I hope you have progressed in your relationship with your anxiety and depression. I hope that you have learned even more about how important mental health is for you. Also that you learned more about anxiety and depression as a whole because there’s always more to learn. Mental health is something that right now during your freshman year is your number one priority so, hopefully it is still either number one or close to it.

I hope you are doing exactly how you want in all of your courses and that you are still on tract for your degree. I also hope you put in more effort for scholarships these past few years so you’re not completely drowning in student debt for too much of your future. I hope that if you did end up changing your major or career path you are still doing something that makes YOU happy and will continue to make up happy for as long as you work towards it.

There’s lots of different aspects that I hope you are growing in or starting but it all comes back to the work you are currently putting in during your freshman year. As I’m writing this I can say I’m stressed but I know how to handle it. I know where I’m going and I have a plan to get there. Keep staying strong in your head and academics and senior year will be over before you know it so , of course, make every second count.
