Science students and faculty at Longwood will be glad to know that Scifinder® Scholar is now available in a web-based version. Scifinder® provides access to a wide range of research from many scientific disciplines, including biomedical sciences, chemistry, engineering, materials science, and more. It includes Chemical Abstracts from 1907 to the present, CASReact, and the CAS Registry File.
Users must complete a simple registration process to access Scifinder® from any computer. The individual client software used in the past will not work after March 20, 2009.
SciFinder® Scholar is for use by Longwood University students, faculty, and staff only according to the following criteria:
“Educational research done in the usual course in the pursuit of a degree, instructional use in a classroom setting, or research by faculty and students which is funded by the government or non-profit research foundations and intended for publication in the publicly available literature… Not for commercial research”
