Pearson’s Correlation

The dependent variable for this correlation is family involvement. This variable was asked on a 1-10 scale, 1 being the lowest and 10 being the highest. The independent variable is the highest education attained in the household. This was asked by selecting “Some high school,” “High school diploma,” “Certification from a trade or vocational school,” “Some college,” “Associates degree,” “Bachelor’s degree,” and “Graduate degree or more.” There is a negative weak correlation between family involvement and highest educational earned in the household (r=-0.0036). There is not a significant difference and we retain the null hypothesis.
