Survey Research

Best practices for survey research involve including open-ended and closed-ended
questions. Furthermore, a good survey also makes the items being presented clear. Surveys should also avoid using double-barreled questions as well as negative items. Respondents must be competent and compliant in answering these survey questions. For this research, the following research question will be used: Will Family Fun Time Activities improve family involvement? Specifically, I am interested in how socioeconomic status affects family involvement. This independent variable will be operationalized with the survey question, “What is your household income?” The dependent variable will be operationalized using the survey question, “How involved was your family with this activity?”
