The dependent variable for this ANOVA was engagement of the child’s education. This was asked on a 0-10 scale. The independent variable for this ANOVA was income. The respondents chose from a variety of income ranges which was later recoded to “Low Income” and “High Income.” The mean engagement for those who chose low income was 6.75 out of 10. The mean engagement for those who chose high income was 7.60 out of 10. According to the ANOVA results (F=.92) there is no significant difference between these means. Therefore, Income does not influence child engagement.
