2nd Semester Reflection

To complete this research project I had to use the programs R-studio cloud as well as SPSS for statistical analysis of data. Through these programs I was able to find different ways to interpret data as well to go into more depth of my knowledge of these programs since my previous research. I enjoyed the process of running the data in these two programs and learned a lot more functions of the programs that can help in other future research projects.

Through this semester of research which built off of the previous semester’s project of parent involvement, I tested different variables to see if they had an impact on parent involvement. One of the variables I tested was the impact of household income on parent involvement. Through running tests on the variable income it showed that the greater the household income was the greater the parent involvement was. This matters because it shows that children who come from lower income households might not necessarily have the same relationships with their parents and that they might not be able to be as involved in their child’s lives due to certain circumstances.

Thanks to the conclusion of the research it has shown the impact that household income can have on the children of the home. This research has shown why the family funtime activities are important to families. Through the family fun time activities it gives parents a chance to interact with their children and teach them certain skills and gives parents a chance to be involved in the educational development of their children.
