In the following correlation, my dependent variable represents family engagement/ involvement, and my independent variable represents levels of enjoyment. Both variables were presented in our surveys on a scale ranging from 0 (not at all) to 10 (great amount). Parents filling out the survey had the option to choose a number on the scale that represented what their Family Fun Time activities looked like at home. The person correlation R value= 0.459 is a positive moderate correlation between engagement and enjoyment. Now with the Pearson Correlation (r=0.459) calculated between both variables, we can see this r value is significant in a population.
