I love to spread happiness to all my students during each lesson or just the entire day. I think it’s important to promote positivism, especially when students are learning new material. I want my students to understand that mistakes are normal because learning is a new process, some people learn more quickly than others, and we are all human. I constantly encourage my students to ask questions, provide answers, or provide examples that are related to their own experiences, our environment, or the experiences of others throughout every lesson. Before starting any class, I always ask my students if there are any tasks that they could find challenging or uncomfortable. If so, I make sure to keep my upbeat demeanor and assure them that they need not worry. I believe in them, so perhaps that will reduce the pressure. Although I recognize that many of the subjects are either not their favorites or can be quite challenging, I want all of my students to feel confident that they are on the correct track when learning new ideas and finishing units. For example, I always urge my students to take a break since they are aware of what needs to be done while they are taking a quiz or test. I tell them to relax and just demonstrate their knowledge to me by walking me through their problem-solving process. I encourage them to never give up and when the final product is finished, they come to me and tell me their good news, and we reflect. I congratulate them, give them hugs/high-fives, and tell them to keep going in the right direction. Also, I encourage all of my students to always come to me if they have any questions or need encouragement.
