Morning meeting and Good morning slides: Every day my class starts off our school day with a 15-minute morning meeting. During our morning meetings, we begin with a Google slide that shares the date, what you should be doing, the daily lunch schedule, and any other important announcements. After we have discussed our daily agenda, we either finish with a daily question/answer or a quick game to get the students active. In addition, I created a Google slide called “Morning Meeting Fun with Ms. Jackson,” in which students and both teachers participate in an activity where they have the chance to share their preferences ranging between foods, drinks, and even fast food chains. Usually, each slide has an image of either two things that they must choose from, getting rid of one item out of four, and if you could only spend a specific amount, what would you buy? Morning meetings and Google Slides are an important component of teaching because it allows both me and the students to get to know each other and share our similarities as well as differences in a fun environment.
