EDUC 245 Human Growth and Development

Section taken: 50

Semester taken: freshman spring

Professor: Dorothy Cosby

Course summary: This course goes over important aspect and perspectives of human growth and development, from conception to adolescence.

Reflection:  I enjoyed having Dr. Cosby as my professor. As I do for all courses, I first printed my syllabus. At first I was a bit overwhelmed because it was 21 pages long, however it included every assignment in detail and rubric for the entire semester, as well as objectives for the course and citations. I think it could have been cut down a bit, but I do admire the thoroughness and attention to detail. Sometimes class was a bit.. all over the place, and things had to be re explained, but once I got started with an assignment it all fell into place. By the end of the class I feel I learned a lot, and it gave me a good basis to continue from. A lot of the class was prior knowledge for me, since I’ve worked in childcare for many years and so I’ve observed a lot firsthand, but none the less, Dr. Cosby’s class was informative, interactive, and enjoyable.
