Reflection

I think that this was the most difficult class for me as a transitioning student– not that the content was hard or that there was a lot of work, but it challenged my learning style. She is very conversational with her lectures, which makes it hard for me to know what I should be taking note of and what is not important. I ended up not taking notes for about the first third of the class, and only really got good at it by the very end of the class. I’ve enjoyed having Dr. Welch as my professor, and I enjoyed talking with her between classes. She’s very smart and knows a lot about a lot of things outside of the history realm. Fortunate for me at the time, yet unfortunate for this portfolio, we did not have any big assignments outside of tests, or small ones. The only grades and assignments we had all semester was to read the textbook, and take three tests and a final. No papers, no projects, nothing to show for. Although I appreciate not having another paper to write, or another presentation to give, it would have been nice to have something to upload. At least I got to see early on what a class is like where that is the format so I am not surprised later in my career.
