While serving in the U.S. Navy, I was able to realize my desire to help others. The Seabee battalion in which I was assigned to performed humanitarian efforts across the globe. It was an incredibly humbling and enlightening experience that allowed me seek other opportunities to provide services for those in need. While I would like to serve military and veteran populations, I find myself extremely interested in a variety of social issues, including mass incarceration, poverty, social inequality and addiction.
