In Sociology 105, Sociology in Practice, I learned how sociologists work and what they do. I learned how to apply sociological principles and the process to problem solving for social change.
In Sociology 345, Social Research and Program Evaluation, I learned how to use the tools to create a quantitative analysis and design research relate to a specific research question. I learned the principles of maximizing good variation and minimizing the bad. I also learned how to gather data through different levels of measurements and the working fundamentals of sampling.
In Sociology 346, Statistics for the Social Sciences, I am currently taking but so far have I learned how to enter data into SPSS and other knowledge on the system. I have also learned the techniques of hypothesis testing and how to interpret findings from statistical outputs.
In Sociology 401, Sociological Theory, I learned how what theory is, the roles of it and how it is a scientific discipline. I learned how to compare and contrast multiple different theoretical traditions and how to relate concepts and themes to social, economic, and political issues.
In Sociology 492, which was my internship at Banks Nutrition Center, I became certified as a Neurofeedback therapist. I learned how to create diet diaries for patients through a computerized system. I also learned how to create shipment labels and send out shipments to patients. I learned knowledge on nutrition in general, as well as knowledge on all the supplements that were sold from the center.
