Like the brochure, this was the first time I had to create a press release, which was a bit challenging. First, we had to create a company and a brand new device. It can be hard to place yourself in a very hypothetical situation, but once we figured out the basics it made writing the press release a bit easier. Just like the brochure, the press release fulfilled the course requirements for producing writing from different workplace genres, creating professional documents, creating a document that uses design elements, and participating in group work. Like the brochure, the press release was important because companies are creating new devices and programs that require press releases.
