Writing a Rhetorical Analysis was a helpful mechanism to learn better use of the rhetorical situation and Aristotelian appeals such as pathos, logos, and ethos. This assignment was crucial in meeting learning outcomes two and five. By conducting our own rhetorical analysis, it enabled us to better understand the nature of other’s discourse or debates. This assignment also allowed us to choose the type of content and to choose a real issue in today’s society. It was helpful in showing the class how to apply this skill to being an active citizen leader, when we may need to make our own arguments in the future.
