ENGL 203 – American Literature, Fall 2016

This class helped me grow as a person in that it gave me a free space to discuss social and political issues, especially while being in the middle of the 2016 election cycle. Discussing books that took place in the segregated south, a Native American reservation, a post-WWI, “Lost Generation” Europe provided me with a classroom experience unlike any English class that I have taken, in high school or college. My experience in this English class would be nothing without Dr. Magill at the helm. With his colorful commentary and intuitive discussion-starters, Dr. Magill singlehandedly made English 203 one of my favorite classes of Fall 2016.
