When scheduling my classes in the fall I could not find an Honors course that fit with my schedule. Then I came across Honors 495: Love, Sex, and Friendship; I did not read the course description as it was the only course that would fit with my schedule. I probably should have read the course description because I was expecting to walk into a class similar to a sex education class. On the first day of class, when Dr. Blincoe handed out the syllabus I was so excited to see that the course revolved around philosophy. I had previously taken a philosophy class, but it was about ethics, so Love, Sex, and Friendship brought a different side of philosophy that I enjoyed learning about very much. I would recommend this class becauseĀ I looked forward to attending class every week not only because of the content, but also because of the class layout. I enjoyed reading before class and having a discussion within the class because it kept me very involved. Also, Dr. Blincoe is great because he is so passionate about what he does, and he is always willing to help. I am very happy that I came across Honors 495; this course really helped me fix what was broken in my relationships and taught me a lot about love.
The artifact I chose to include was my research assignment from this course. The assignment was to write a wedding toast using sources we studied throughout the semester.
