This class was like no other class that I had ever taken before. I had never taken a Communications class nor did I know how to film/create short films. Along with not knowing how to do a big part of this class, I also had never taken a class that revolved around the LGBTQ+ community. I am very happy that I chose to take this class because it allowed me to broaden my horizons not only with adding a new skill (filmmaking), but also I am much more knowledgeable about the LGBTQ+ community. I HIGHLY recommend this class to all majors because the LGBTQ+ community is slowly gaining more rights within society, and this class helps you understand what they went through trying to gain these rights, along with understanding how this community is portrayed in the media.

The artifact that I chose to include was my final project. This was a film that I had to write, edit, film, and cast throughout the end of the semester. Like I said before, this was the first film that I had ever created, but it turned out great and was shown at the Longwood Media Showcase in the Spring of 2020. The longline for this film was:
