My experiences at Longwood has helped me learn what type of person I am and what I want to accomplish in the future. Longwood has taught me I love helping people more than anything. Upon, graduating from Longwood University, I plan to get my Master’s in Public Administration. Once I receive my masters, I plan to work for a nonprofit and open two of my own nonprofits as well.

ePortfolio Purpose and Content

The purpose of this ePortfolio is to display and reflect on my projects and other assignments from English 400 Advanced Writing Seminar class. After completing this course, I am able to recognize and analyze different rhetorical devices to help me grow as a writer. This course has also helped me grow my active citizenship writing skills as well. The skills and concepts that I have learned in this class will help me throughout my future and future career. The skills I have learned will be needed for when I am asking for grant money in the future for my nonprofits and being able to appeal to different audiences using rhetorical devices will help me gain support. Throughout this class, I completed journal entries to reflect on the assigned readings throughout the course. I wrote a rhetorical analysis and was able to visualize the different rhetorical devices used by the filmmakers and discuss how they appealed to the audience. The common good project allowed me to work with other individuals in my class and rely on my team members to get things done. I was also able to take the course concepts I learned in class and apply them to the common good project to appeal to the audience. English 400 has helped further develop me into an active citizen by equipping me with the knowledge and tools needed to be able to enact change in my future career through written communication, such as designing a professional website for a nonprofit and showcasing their purpose.
