American Literature, taught by Dr. VaNess, was a beneficial course due to its honors credit and knowledgable professor. Dr. VaNess motivated me to challenge myself creatively in writing and research. I learned how to correctly research for a topic through the Longwood Greenwood Library and learned the importance of taking advantage of office hours.
My artifact from Dr. VaNess’s course illustrates my overall growth from mediocre writing to my personal best. I finalized this article after countless hours of researching and visiting office hours. I studied in depth the life of Anne Sexton and how society influenced her work.
