I took this class Fall of 2016.
This was the first real Honors class I took at Longwood and it certainly threw me for a loop. Dr. Steven Isaac made me think about History in a way I hadn’t before. History is definitely my least favorite subject. I don’t learn well through lectures or reading; I am an active learner so History classes are a struggle for me.
Dr. Isaac’s class was set up a bit differently than most History classes. He often focused on a discussion based class as opposed to lecturing at his class the entire time. While I still struggled to understand and grasp many of his lessons, at times it was a bit easier for me to engage during class.
Attached is a copy of one of the essays I wrote for his class. We had 2 essay tests and a couple random essays throughout the semester. This is one of the regular essays based on the reading for class.
