During my time in Tales of the Frontier, we analyzed written works that go into detail about the explorations of various new frontiers, such as the Narvaez Expedition, the Oregon Trail, and the accounts of English prisoners inside of Native American territory. This course provided a very difficult challenge for me in that it was a very writing intensive course on a complicated and intricate topic. Several of these papers, including the one I present as my artifact, required many long sessions of rough drafts, revisions, and complete overhauls of the entire paper. I was forced to improve and practice my writing skills constantly in this class, and as such I struggled immensely on many of the assignments given. This course has forced me to hone my skills as a writer in order to prepare me for my future here at Longwood.
