Hello! My name is Summer Chenault and I am a senior studying Communication Sciences and Disorders. My goal is to attend graduate school to achieve my Masters of Science in Speech Language Pathology. After college, I hope to pursue a career in a hospital or skilled nursing facility. I have previously shadowed a speech language pathologist at a skilled nursing facility in the Winter of 2017 for 30 hours. Furthermore, I plan to observe a speech language pathologist again for twenty five hours in the Spring of 2019. I chose to enter the medical field because I love working with people, especially those in need.
The purpose of this e-portfolio is to show my development and growth in professional writing. I have achieved the learning outcomes listed by formulating many typed professional documents, preparing professional presentations, and working in a team to accomplish challenging documents. The assignments I have completed in my professional writing course have enabled me to become a more detail oriented writer and use strategies in order to improve. In my future career, it is extremely important to be able to complete forms and paperwork in a professional manner. I will have to complete paperwork for insurance companies, appropriate explanation of medical treatment, and directions to other care providers. I am very thankful to have taken this course, so I can provide my future patients with the expertise they deserve.
