SPUR is a year-round digital initiative that shares exemplary course-based research projects and independent research-in-progress with the world and culminates in a spring exhibition. Students receive swag for submitting and are eligible for year-end awards for most views and downloads. SPUR supports Goal 3 of the Longwood University’s Quality Enhancement Plan (QEP), “to improve student learning by advancing an understanding of the importance of disseminating the results of research in academic and civic communities.” It specifically supports Action 3.4, “highlight senior honors research and other student research on the student research portal.”
