Health 210, Global Health, was a class I found very interesting, I liked the class a lot because it dealt with healthcare across the world. As a nursing major, I found this information very insightful and important to learn about. Having taken this class prior to lots of my nursing classes, I learned certain information which helped me in my nursing classes in spring semester. Specifically, this class focused a lot on health disparities, social determinants of health, and health care systems across the globe. This information was relevant in my nursing classes which made studying and retaining information easier because I had previously been exposed to that information. This class incorporated lots of different aspects of learning. I am a visual learner, so I appreciated the graphics and charts associated with the information being presented. I learned the importance of collaborating with others on completing tasks and that collaboration can help me understand information further. Additionally, the professor incorporated a lot of interactive learning activities such as a game we played in the willet studio. This helped me retain information better because it was more “exciting” than the usual PowerPoint presentation. I felt as if I grew a lot from this class and it helped prepare me for my career.
My artifact is an infographic which was a part of the final paper we had to complete. This infographic gives insight to childhood obesity.
