Hello, my name is Sarah Katherine and I just completed my first year in Longwood University’s Nursing Program. I was born and raised in Richmond Virginia with a loving family. My family instilled life long lessons of compassion and hard work which ultimately led me to choose nursing as a career. Throughout high school I was very focused on academics as well as dancing six days a week. My passion for working hard in both school and dance motivated me to apply to Longwood’s Honors College to strengthen my education in college even further. With already one year down I am thrilled to continue learning and growing in my next three years here in Longwood’s Honors College. So far I have learned so much in just one year. I have gotten involved in Zeta Tau Alpha as well as Longwood Company of Dancers. Being very involved in the Longwood community has given me so many opportunities to meet new people, gain more knowledge, and learn more about myself. In the future I can envision myself working as a labor and delivery nurse and possibly continuing my education to become a Certified Nurse Midwife. I am positive that my education here will provide me the skills I need to accomplish my goals.
