Perspective: Global Citizenship or Aesthetic

The class I took to fulfill this perspective was RELI 342 also known as religion and literature.

This class was very difficult because it was asynchronous, but it required readings, reading responses, discussion postings, and lectures to be watched twice a week. One of the major assignments we were required to complete was a group presentation on a reading that the class would complete the next week. My group read the novel called Wise Blood by author Flannory O’Conner. We presented her past writings, what was challenging in this book, what was interesting in the reading, things we did to help our understanding, and how the reading connected to theologians that had been read in previous weeks. This was a difficult task to complete because of this class being asynchronous I had never met these students before and trying to find meeting times and trying to communicate which person was going to present what information was extremely challenging. However, I think this was a good learning experience in being able to work with others and gave myself the chance to connect what we had learned in previous readings through the theologians in new text which was the goal of this class. This also gave me the opportunity to expand my ability to present and advance my public speaking capabilities.
