This assignment included developing a product and creating a brochure for it. This was a fun assignment that allowed us to be creative while also working on our professional writing skills. It corresponded with a few different course outcomes, but “create professional documents that use design” and “participate productively in collaborative projects” were the two that had the greatest focus. The brochure was an enjoyable way for us to practice different design product skills. I learned a lot about proper AIDA format, how to catch the eye of the readers, and how to present information that is both attractive and easy to read. We also were able to incorporate the proper use of the eight C’s into our writing. Another key component of this assignment was the group work. In any group assignment, it can be challenging to combine the opinions of four people into creating one document, but we were all able to work together professionally and collaborate effectively in order to create a good brochure. All in all, this assignment was a fun way to learn about the visual side of business writing and I think I will be able to use all of the skills I learned in my future endeavors.
