Honors is a small community nested within the Longwood community. Honors classes are full of people I know and can reach out to if I want to study, walk to class together, or just hang out. This community makes the classroom a more comfortable environment, where I feel content with the students around me. This community surfaces within the dorms in Wheeler, too. During my freshman year, many nights were spent baking in the first floor kitchen, studying in the second floor lounge, or having game nights in suite 207 / 209. My suitemate became one of my best friends, and my other best friend from high school was just on the other side of the hall. I found friends scattered across the floors in Wheeler, who I was able to call on whenever I wanted to grab lunch or needed a shoulder to cry on. Honors gave me my first friends at Longwood, and I will be forever grateful.
