Volunteering at a hospital in North Carolina with my sorority sisters!
Service has become an increasingly important part of my college experience. Honors connects its students with a variety of service opportunities, as seen in the Honors Headlines every week. During the Honors Retreat, they even arranged for groups of students to help out at varying service locations! I recall my group going to assist Clean Virginia Waterways by picking up trash in the parking lot near Macado’s and then helping clean inside their house near campus. While I do not always perform my service through Honors, their devotion to service propels my desire to help the community, such as when I volunteer at FACES or at a hospital in North Carolina. My love for giving back to my community has grown due to the influence of the Honors College.
