Formal Report

Reflection

The Formal Report was our biggest assignment for this class. While creating this document, all six Course Learning Outcomes were utilized. My group used our previous knowledge of the block letter format when creating the letters of authorization and transmittal. We also had the opportunity to create another logo and write as though we were a professional consulting company. This assignment involved many aspects of professional writing that I had not experienced before, such as an executive summary, tables of contents and figures, and recording meeting minutes.

Just as every opportunity in this class, the Eight C’s were involved in writing this report. For research, we used our textbook and other supplied materials to review examples of other formal reports and breakdowns of each section. We also presented this report to the class, as though we were the consulting firm hired by our peers, to provide them with information on reputable and outstanding hotel websites based on certain criteria. With the use of a PowerPoint presentation, we were able to display our formal report findings in a professional manner to an audience.
