When finding my topic I was always interested in coral bleaching, but I wanted to pick a specific place. After a lot of researching of articles I decided to pick the Great Barrier Reef because it was the most vulnerable to coral bleaching and climate change. Also, because I am going to Australia for a study abroad this summer so it interested me. All together I found this topic interesting and the Great Barrier Reefs decline to be an important issue to share.

draft paper reflection
While writing my draft paper I split my paper up in to an introduction, vulnerability to climate change due to rising SST, rising SST, coral bleaching is the stress response of coral losing its photosynthetic pigments. After I made the sections I I went through all my information I collected from my articles and put them into the corresponding section with a citation and mixed in my own thoughts . When I was done with this process I read through my rough draft and created a bibliography at the end of the paper. I then turned it in for revision.

I supported my thesis with lit by reading through a few of my articles that had to do with my thesis. After reading each article I put the key points that supported my thesis into a word document. The information was then put into the designated sub point it supported.

To develop my thesis I read through a few of my articles, and then narrowed the ideas down to key points. After this I took the key points and decided what I wanted my paper to be about. when I figured out what I wanted to write about I constructed a thesis based off of the key points.

When finding my sources, I searched through the Longwood library online site looking for what causes coral bleaching. For each paper I found I would read the title and see if it was relevant to my topic of coral bleaching. I would also read the abstracts of each paper. The only problem I ran into was that their were papers that talked about how coral bleaching affected the assorted fish that lived in coral reefs. This is something I am not researching. All together it was pretty easy to find sources on coral bleaching because it is such a worldwide phenomenon, and there was a lot of information given in the abstracts of each paper I found.
