CRIM 200

Introduction to Corrections

This class was an introduction to the correctional side of the criminal justice system. We discussed different types of prisons, the history of the correctional system, and what happens once you are released from prison. I enjoyed this class because corrections is the section of the criminal justice system that I am most interested in. This class really helped shape my idea of what I wanted to do when I finished with my degree. This class was taught by Dr. Call, a professor whose classes I have been able to follow along easily with.

The artifact below is the final assignment of the class and asks my opinion on one of the more controversial topics of the correctional system. This is a popular topic to discuss in criminal justice classes as well as other classes. I have discussed this topic before, but it was interesting to write about with new knowledge about the correctional system.
