Goal 8- Psychology 101
Psychology 101
Psychology 101 was taught by Ms. Jacqueline Barnette. I chose this course because I thought Psychology would be interesting to learn. My mom majored in Psychology in college and she always told me that the beginning psychology courses were her favorite. The focus of the course was personality, emotional, social development, and cognitive processes. I did not find the class difficult, but the grading consisted of a few tests, two projects, and a group final which meant that a bad score on one thing was hard to recover from. The class was not difficult because it did not challenge the students. As long as you attended class and studied the textbook before a test, receiving an A for the semester was guaranteed. I enjoyed the subject matter, but the style of teaching was not easy to follow. Classes consisted of a lecture from a power point but the power point often contradicted the material in the textbook. Having inconsistencies in the material made knowing what to learn confusing.
