The Common Good Project has been my favorite assignment all semester! This project allowed us to get into teams and apply the knowledge we had learned into creating some form of agency or organization that would help out our community. My group decided to transform from English 400 students to the “Holiday Helpers”. Our goal was simple: to provide information on how and what to donate to help families and children in the Farmville community. This project allowed us to utilize pathos to appeal to the emotions of our audience. We choose this topic because we know that the poverty rate in Farmville and its surrounding counties is high. We personally believe that no one should go without food, gifts, or family during the holiday season and that they should not celebrate less due to financial strain.
