PHED 101 or Fitness concepts was a class that integrated a fitness class component with online assignments that promoted the understanding of physical health. I was required to wear a FitBit and walk 10,000 steps a day. I enjoyed this class as it was different than any other general education goal I have completed. It challenged me to make time in my busy day to exercise in order to meet my step requirement. This class also pushed me outside of my comfort zone as I learned new body-weight exercises and the proper form. I enjoyed coming in for “open gym” with my friends. Overall, this class has made me more self-aware of my own activity levels and educated me on how to live a healthier, more active lifestyle.
